As we move out of winter into early Spring, I’ve got two new workshops happening in September. Have a look below at what’s happening and be sure to Contact me for more details.
2024
“Figure and Portrait Drawing/Painting” Sunday, September 15th, 10am – 4pm. This workshop is a great introduction for any student ready to tackle drawing and painting directly from life. It’s also a wonderful way for those who feel good about their drawing/painting skills but want to up their game. There will be multiple exercises to tap into both your analytical side and your more expressive and intuitive instincts. The learning curve is huge! Space is limited so email me for more information and to book your spot. $175, some supplies provided.
“The Painting Process: Techniques to Work Through Your Painting Ideas”. Sunday, September 29th, 10am – 4pm: . This is a new class designed to give you ideas, techniques and inspiration as you progress through a painting. I will have a number of my own paintings on hand at various stages of completion and I will walk you through a series of demonstrations designed to get you inside my own working methodology. The goal is to help your own work flourish and grow. Underpainting, glazing, working directly, introducing alternate materials and general troubleshooting will all be discussed. After the series of demonstrations, students will work on their own paintings and apply some or all of the new material covered. Having a painting in progress or one that has you stumped is a must. Space is limited so email me for more information and to book your spot. $175, some supplies provided.
The above two workshops will be held at Christchurch Arts Centre/Te Matatiki Toi Ora across from Hagley Park.
